All Meetings Cancelled

1

God reigns over the nations; God sits on his holy throne. —Psalm 47:8

Given the recent and stricter recommendations from the medical and governing authorities, we have decided to suspend all FBBC events and gatherings through the end of March.

  • There will be no formal church service on Sunday, March 22 or Sunday, March 29.
  • There will be no formal FLG meetings this week.
  • Golden Age Fellowship and prayer meetings are cancelled.
  • The FLG Leaders’ Meeting on March 24 is being postponed.
  • Youth Music Academy will not be meeting.
  • The ASL (Sign Language) class will not meet.
  • The Spanish women’s conference is being postponed.

We don’t know what conditions will be like at the end of the month, but we will contact you again to let you know whether this is cancellation is going to be extended.

Though many will be staying inside their homes during this time, it’s important that we all do what we can to stay connected and united. Here are some resources to help us do that.

  1. Use your FBBC Members Directory, which includes contact information for each member. If you find that any information in our records needs to be updated, please contact the church office. Please keep in mind that this information is confidential and only being distributed to members.
  2. We have also attached a prayer guide that we can all follow together. We suggest your household choose a consistent time each day (maybe just before or after dinner) and pray together.
  3. A new “Coronavirus FBBC Update” page has been added to our website to track all announcements during this time. You can find a link on the “emergency bar” and in one of the main buttons on the homepage.
  4. For the next two Sundays, we will be posting an online service order including suggested songs, announcements, and a sermon. You’ll be able to find it one the “Coronavirus FBBC Update” page on our website. You will also see the sermons added to our “Sermons” page. The sermons will be posted on our website by Sunday morning, so you can worship in your own home with your family.

Finally, due to the financial strain many are (or will be) facing, we’d like you to be aware of the following:

  1. If you are facing any types of hardships during this time, please talk to one of the elders. No matter how difficult the struggle may be, we want to go through it as God intended—together.
  2. During this time, if you would like to continue giving offering for the church, there are a few ways to do so:
  • You can mail a check to the office (9133 Mines Avenue; Pico Rivera, CA 90660).
  • You can place an offering envelope in the church’s mailbox (adjacent to the main entrance).
  • You can use the “Bill Pay” option from your financial institution, if available. This option automatically deducts an amount from your account and mails the church a check in your name. Some institutions will do this at no additional charge.

In light of all this, we must remember that God is still on His throne, and He is still using the church of Jesus Christ to accomplish His sovereign purposes. Life is going to look different for a while, but nothing is a surprise to God.

Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. —Ephesians 3:20-21

May Christ bless you and bless others through you,

Your FBBC Elders
